Under certain circumstances, a marriage may be annulled, as if the marriage never existed. There are only a few circumstances under which a court will annul a marriage. For example, a marriage can be annulled if one party was not legally divorced from a former spouse at the time of the marriage. Depending on the length of the marriage and the particular circumstances of the case, a judgment of annulment may deal with some or all of the issues that would typically be at issue in a divorce.
