Oregon Family Law FAQs
Each case has its own timeline. As a general rule, the courts require that every case must be completed within nine to twelve months after it is filed. The more the parties can agree on issues, the faster the case will resolve. The more complex issues the case has, or if it is contentious, the longer it will take to resolve. The key to getting through your case is to be patient. Your case will get to closure. It is important to remember that, and to start moving on with your life during the time your case is pending.
